Tammy Leslie approached me with a challenge…She needed to create targeted videos to help her lay a foundation of understanding in Guided Math instructional techniques. Together we created a number of videos with the children & teachers from Edmonton Catholic Schools.
Guided Math is an instructional approach that focuses on small group instruction and differentiated instruction to help students learn math at their own pace.
This approach uses a variety of teaching strategies, such as hands-on activities, games, and real-life problem-solving, to make math more engaging and meaningful for students. The teacher typically works with a small group of students, providing them with direct instruction and support, while also using formative assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
The goal of Guided Math is to provide students with a strong foundation in math concepts and skills, and to help them become more independent and confident learners.
